Install NT4 on a hard drive formatted with the FAT16 File System.
This assumes very limited MS/PTS DOS knowledge and you are able to download the following self extracting WinImages.
MSDOS CDROM Setup FloppyPlease note that PTS DOS 2000 is able to create the maximum NT4 FAT16 Patition size of 4GB.
Boot the Laptop with the created PTS DOS 2000 disk and at the A:\>_ command prompt type:
Follow instructions to create a FAT16 Primary Active C: partition (maximum 4GB) and any further partitions you may require.
After creating partitions reboot. Then after reboot you need to format the created drive, at the A:\>_ command prompt type:
Insert the CDROM Setup floppy, at the A:\>_ command prompt type:
Shut down the Laptop and swap over to the CD Drive and upon rebooting you will have a screen showing the CD drive has been found by PTS DOS and a drive letter assigned, lets assume it is D:
Insert the NT4 CD and navigate to the I386 folder, at the C:\>_ command prompt type:
Just follow instructions on the screen to install NT4.................................................voila!
Please be aware that this will list a dual boot after installation!
